Global stocks are trading mixed currently as bond yields eased after weak US labor data. Wall Street ended higher on Wednesday. Meta shares rose 1.54% outperforming the market as the social platform leader announced the addition of new generative AI tools for advertisers, Apple shares added 0.73% on Wednesday amid news Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook sold stock worth about $41 million after taxes in his biggest sale in more than two years.

Forex news

The Dollar strengthening has halted currently. The live dollar index data show the ICE US Dollar index, a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rival currencies, dipped 0.3% Wednesday.

Both GBP/USD and EUR/USD reversed their retreating on Wednesday while Eurostat reported retail sales in euro zone declined more than expected in August. Both euro and Pound are little changed against the dollar currently. USD/JPY ended little changed yesterday while AUD/USD reversed its sliding with both the yen and the Australian dollar higher against the Greenback currently.

Stock Market news

The US stock index futures are lower currently ahead of US unemployment claims data at 14:30 CET today. The three main US stock indexes ended higher on Wednesday in the range from 0.4% to 1.4% as ADP reported private payroll growth slowed sharply in September.

European stock indexes futures are up currently after indexes closed marginally lower yesterday with oil and gas stocks leading losses. Asian stock indexes futures are mixed today with Japan’s Nikkei index leading gains as China's mainland markets remain closed for holidays.

Commodity Market news

Brent is edging lower presently. Prices ended over $5 lower yesterday while the Energy Information Administration data showed US crude inventories fell by 2.2 million barrels last week to 414.1 million barrels. However gasoline stocks rose by 6.5 million barrels, far exceeding expectations of a 200 thousand barrel rise. The US oil benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures dropped 5.6% and is lower currently. Brent crude slumped 5.6% to $85.81 a barrel on Wednesday.

Gold Market News

Gold prices are steady presently. Spot gold slipped 0.1% to $1821.02 an ounce on Wednesday.
