Global stocks are trading in opposite directions currently ahead of US nonfarm payrolls January report at 14:30 CET today after Wall Street ended mixed on Thursday. Nvidia shares gained 3.08% outperforming market as Morgan Stanley said it sees the recent selloff, triggered by concerns over competition from DepSeek, a buying opportunity, Amazon shares slumped 4.05% in after hours on Thursday as the company reported soft revenue guidance while beating Q4 forecasts.

Forex news

The Dollar strengthening is intact today. The live dollar index data show the ICE US Dollar index, a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rival currencies, ended 0.1% higher on Thursday.

Both GBP/USD and EUR/USD reversed their climbing yesterday while the Bank of England cut interest rates by the expected 25 basis points. Both euro and Pound are little changed against the dollar currently. USD/JPY slowed its retreating while AUD/USD ended little changed on Thursday with the yen lower against the Greenback currently and Australian dollar higher.

Stock Market news

US stock index futures are down currently with the yield on benchmark 10-year Treasury notes up at 4.446%. The three main stock benchmarks ended mixed on Thursday recording daily returns in a range from -0.28% to 0.51% as falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1413 to 1361 and 85 ended unchanged.

European indexes futures are up today after stock indexes closed higher yesterday with auto sector ending up 1.1%. Asian stock indexes futures are mostly rising today with Japan’s Nikkei defying the trend amid reports that the Nissan is preparing to withdraw from merger talks with Honda .

Commodity Market news

Brent is edging higher currently. Prices ended lower on Thursday as president Trump repeated a pledge to boost US production in a bid to lower oil prices and ease consumer inflation. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures fell 0.6% but are higher currently. Brent futures slid 0.4% to $74.29 a barrel on Thursday.

Gold Market News

Gold is retracing up presently.  Spot gold reversed five-session winning streak on Thursday: it slid 0.39% to $2855.92 an ounce.
